The show Settlers surveys the search for poetry in that which we build during these unsettled times. The settler is one who builds a home or takes a stand in a place yet unsettled—planting a flag or a tree, singing odes to the wind.



Roman Barkow (*1989, Hamburg) lives and works in Hamburg. He has pursued studies in Philosophy at the Universität Hamburg and is currently a BFA student at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.

Mareike Brümmer (*1987, Lingen (DE)) lives and works in Hamburg. She is MEd from the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.

Kirstin Burckhardt (*1986, Durban (ZA)) lives and works in Hamburg. She is Dipl. Kunst from the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.

Anthea Lubat (*1989, Toulouse (FR)) lives and works in Toulouse. She is MFA from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon.
Recent projects and exhibitions include creating an original vinyl visual identity for Ahrpe Records, Toulouse and Stockholm 2014 / Shadow Widow 4/7, Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris 2013.

Julia Metropolit (*1988, Cambrai (FR)) lives and works in Hamburg. She is BFA from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon and an MFA student at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.
Recent and upcoming exhibitions include In Surface and Silence, Galerie der HFBK, Hamburg 2013 / Prousts Fragebogen, Elektrohaus Hamburg 2014 / Boat People (edition), Récit, Paris 2014/ La Base, Paris 2014.

Josephine Pasura (*1989, Baden-Baden) lives and works in Hamburg. She did an academic exchange at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon in 2013 and is a BFA student at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.
